Roger Davis, Head of Operations:
I was born and raised in a small community in Southwestern
Wisconsin. My father owned a salvage yard and I always assumed that I would grow
up and continue the Davis family-owned business. I was living and working (a
lot) happily in Wisconsin driving semi for a local trucking company traveling
the nation, when I was offered a very exciting job with a professional race team
based out of Missouri. I was offered and, of course, accepted the position for
“Transportation Engineer”. I began working as the truck driver for RaceWerX
MotorSports in February of 1997. I was hired sight unseen and with no interview
to follow! Considering my first love is cars (particularly the 69’ GTO), this
was the perfect job for me. It combined my interests of driving a semi and
racing. It also let me use some of my past experience doing custom paint jobs
on hot rod and exotic cars. It couldn’t get much better! Thus began my
relationship with Bruce and we became great friends.
RaceWerX MotorSports ran
its last season in 1999 and it was during that period that I began working for
Bruce on a personal level. I had developed fairly permanent roots in Missouri
by that time, so I stuck around to see what was next. Bruce began sharing his
vision of creating a guitar manufacturing company and this sparked my interest.
Having no musical experience in my background, I was particularly interested in
the structure of such a company. Eager to witness the detailed process of
making a musical instrument, I was ready to get things started.
I am grateful to be a part of this company and I enjoy my job
immensely.
I’m getting to use my spray booth experience applying the fine
finishes on GuitarWerX guitars and I use my fabricating talents almost daily. I
am enthusiastically learning every aspect of contemporary luthierie.
Outside of my job I have I wide variety of interests. There are just not enough hours in a day! My outdoor hobbies include hunting and fishing. Indoor hobbies include web surfing, computer research and fish aquariums. I share my living space with my girlfriend, 4 cats, 2 dogs, 2 birds, and 15 fish. I stay busy and generally find myself in the midst of several projects at any given time, but always take time to relax with family and friends.
I am really excited for those individuals who will purchase one of our outstanding guitars. You'll be the owner of a very fine instrument. Please enjoy your guitar as much as we enjoyed making it for you.
